Talking Horror With Cinemassacre's Mike Matei The Paper Masque

It's safe to assume quite a number of you are familiar with and if not then you're probably familiar with the series which seemed to skyrocket the sites popularity; James Rolfe's ‘Angry Videogame Nerd'. Richard: I recall either you or James mentioning how in the earlier stages of the Angry Video Game Nerd (AVGN) , you were not so comfortable being on camera, yet would agree to show up in costume as guest characters such as Bugs Bunny or The Joker and so on.

The AVGN reviews Halloween (2600), Haunted House (2600), Frankenstein's Monster (2600) This is part 2 of the The Texas Chainsaw Massacre review. The Nerd would later guest star in various Channel Awesome shows, even appearing to review the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie with the Nostalgia Critic.

The video quality is about what you'd expect from YouTube, however, this set is far better simply for the fact that you don't have to deal with YouTube's cumbersome interface, ads, and the random pixilation that sometimes occurs during YouTube videos.

The AVGN reviews the Sega CD system and the games Ground Zero: Texas, Slam City with Scottie Pippen, Double Switch, Night Trap, Corpse Killer, Time Gal, Lethal Enforcers, The Adventures of Willy Beamish, Road Avenger, Jurassic Park, Prize Fighter, and many Mike Matei more.

The AVGN reviews A Boy and His Blob (NES), The Three Stooges (NES), Home Improvement (SNES), Pit Fighter (SNES), Bubsy 3D (PS1), Spider-Man and Venom Maximum Carnage (SNES). It gives us a chance to play and talk about a lot of games that wouldn't be appropriate for the Nerd to review.

CONTENT: If you're looking at this set, you know who the Angry VideoGame Nerd is. This is the same content online, just packed onto a Blu-Ray set and loaded with extras. Anyway, Mike is and always has been the glue that held Cinemassacre together, and personally, I love his videos and his characters.

Rolfe's character, "The Nerd", is a short-tempered and foul-mouthed video game fanatic who is sometimes besieged by guest characters from video games and popular culture. I help James come up with ideas and record gameplay footage for The Angry Video Game Nerd web series.

Nearly a decade after the series' humble inception, James Rolfe's frequently sailor-mouthed alter-ego is still spreading influence. Together with Pat the NES Punk, the Angry Video Game Nerd has collaboratively hosted Cinemassacre's yearly NES marathon; a charity event to raise money for children's hospitals.

The Archfiend didn't stop with the AVGN drama and attacked Mike Matei in Oct 2011 instead. On top of that, I also edit other game reviews, Top Tens, movie reviews and so on. If I spent half my time drawing those title cards, these videos would never get done.

While choosing what game to review, the Nerd briefly looks at the infamous E.T., but then passes by. Although the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde review was intended to be the last, Rolfe's friends, who enjoyed the previous Bad NES games” reviews, encouraged him to create another.
